Back to Reality

I recently told you about my love affair with summer.  Well, I don't think summer is loving me back.  I think it's going to leave me!

It seems like I just picked the kids up on
the last day of school
They were so excited for camp and all the
other adventures they would have
The kids finished up summer camp this week, and in 2 weeks, they'll be back in school.  This really makes me sad, annoyed, and kind of mad.  Even though we've been busy this summer, we were doing things we WANTED to do, not things we HAD to do.

Fall flowers are out in the stores
Back to school means back to reality!  Back to being busy, back to a schedule, back to homework, back to feeling exhausted.  I'm trying to figure out the kids' after school schedule right now.  Nathan has a social skills class once a week and Drew has a religion class at our church once a week.  I still don't know what days these classes will be held.  On the weekends, Drew will be playing travel baseball with our local little league and have 2 games each weekend.  On Sundays, I teach a special needs religion class at our church for Nathan and a few other kids.

Stores shelves are loaded with fall colors
and decorations
Why does this kind of "busy" feel different than the summertime "busy"?  I guess because in the summer, we do what we want, when we want.  Although we're busy, if we change our minds and decide we don't want to do something that's fine.  During the school year, we have more of a schedule and have to do certain things at certain times.

I actually really love fall, but all I can think
is, here comes winter
Oh, and one more thing, we all know what happens a few months after the kids go back to school. Winter.  That's what happens.  Oh, how I loathe winter!  Summer, please, please don't go!

  1. I didn't realize you taught a religion class. Where do you find all this time?
